Research being one of the tripartite functions of University is critical to the Nigerian British University’s mandate. The Nigerian British University shall strive to be a research driving force in Nigeria, proffering solutions to the social and technological challenges facing the nation.
Research Philosophy
- Ensure the smooth conduct of realistic basic and applied research for staff and students through the provision of adequate financial and material resources.
- Create new knowledge through the instrumentality of research with the aim to bridge the gap between economic laxity and technological developments towards the growth and development of Nigeria and the world in general.
- Provide support for the emancipation of people from an unhealthy trend of underdevelopment, and their eventual liberation to new ideas, innovations and techniques developed by the University as a means of enhancing their standard of living.
- Promote research linkages with institutions and agencies which includes industries, community, public service and professional organizations within and outside Nigeria towards the achievement of the NBU’s research mandate.
Research Objectives
- The conduct of viable research shall be used as a tool to address the various economic, social and technological setbacks around the globe.
- Timely publication of outcomes of cutting-edge research to attain national and global relevance.
Training students of our university in all aspects of research at all levels, and developing the next generation of academic staff that will be competent, adequately equipped and confident to undertake future research. - Sensitizing our students on best practices in the conduct of research and research methodologies.
- Ensuring that our students research are published in any of the international journals before graduation.
