ADMISSION PROCEDURE

We are delighted that you are considering joining our vibrant academic community. Admission at NBU is open to all,
irrespective of Nationality, Sex, Physical ability, and Religion provided the applicant meets admission requirements.
This guide will walk you through the steps to apply for admission to our esteemed institution.
Step 1: Choose Your Programme:
Before beginning your application, explore our wide range of undergraduate programmes. 
Step 2: Confirm Admission Procedures:
• Nigerian Applicants: At least five Ordinary Level credit passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB,
NABAIS) or their equivalent in relevant subjects in not more than two sittings, with an acceptable score in the
UTME in relevant subjects as specified by JAMB.
• Foreign Applicants: Foreign applicants must provide their corresponding Examination Results as
well as academic transcripts of previous high schools.
• Transfer & Direct Entry Students: Must have completed one of the following: OND, NCE,
HND, ‘A’ level GCE, JUPEB, and IJMB or any other higher qualification approved and recognized
by JAMB.
Step 3: Check Admission Requirement:
Ensure you meet the specific entry requirements for your chosen program. To be eligible for Nigerian British
University’s undergraduate programmes, you must meet our entry requirements:

  • UTME subjects to include Literature in English and two other Arts or Social Science subjects.
  • 2. Computing and Information Technology B.SC in:
  • Data Science
  • Information Technology

  • Software Engineering
  • Cyber Security
  • Five O/Level credit passes to include English Language,Mathematics, Physics and two other Science subjects.
  • UTME subjects to include Mathematics, Physics and one other Science subject.
  • 3. Faculty of Business and Management SciencesB.SC in:
  • Accounting

  • Business Administration
  • Public Administration

  • UTME Subjects: The NBU prefers Physics/Mathematics, Chemistry and Bilogy.
  • 5. Faculty of Engineering
  • B.Eng. Electrical &Electronics Engineering
  • B.Eng. Mechatronics Engineering
  • B.Eng. Computer Engineering
  • B.Eng. Information & Communication Engineering
  • Five O/Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Geography/any other Science subject
  • UTME Subjects: The NBU prefers Physics,Mathematics and Chemistry
  • Step 4: Complete the Application Form
    Fill out the online application form available on our Admissions Portal. Ensure all information provided is accurate and up to date. Review your application carefully before submission. Once satisfied, submit yourapplication through the admissions portal.
    Step 5: Await Admission Decision
    Your application will be reviewed by the admissions committee. Decisions are typically communicated via email within a few weeks of application submission. We will provide updates regarding the status of your application, including any additional documents or information that may be required. Successful candidates will receive a Provisional Admission letter outlining the next steps.
    Step 6: Accept Your Provisional Admission Offer.

    When you receive a Provisional Admission offer letter, confirm your acceptance by following the instructions in your offer letter to secure your place in the programme and prepare for the onboarding process. This includes paying the designated acceptance fee.

    Step 7: Prepare for Onboarding
    Once your acceptance and fee payment is confirmed, you will receive an onboarding checklist on what to expect during onboarding and how to prepare for onboarding.
